Maintenance and Storage

The Sport Berkey Water Filter can be stored for up to 50 years in a dry place. To prepare for storage, fill the Berkey Sport with a chlorine solution of 1.25 ml per 2 liters of water and let it run through the filter. Allow it to dry thoroughly with the cap off, then reassemble and store. Do not freeze the filter, put it in a microwave, or expose it to hot or salt water.
